There Were Herbs Everywhere!

Last week, during an impromptu girls' day out, one of our stops was an apothecary that was filled with what seemed to be every herb known to man. There were pre-made tea blends, loose herbs, books about herbal medicine ( I plan to cop that one soon 😉), and small insects in jars of water. That was creepy and I have no idea if they were real, but I don't plan to look at them when I go back. There were so many choices, it was difficult finding a starting point. But start I did. And once I got going, it was hard to stop!

But, as you can see, choices were made. Of course, I didn't have a list of ingredients for the blends I want to make with me, but does anyone really think that stopped me? Right. Noooope! I felt like a kid in a candy store and bought ingredients that I need to figure out how to use, but you know what? It's sure going to be fun trying. I bought star anise, orange peel, hibiscus, rosehips and a few more. And while I've got plenty of herbs, the lack of a list does not help. So in the future, rest assured that list will be in my phone so that I'm not caught unaware during the next girls' trip.

Over the course of the next few days, we'll be discussing the herbs I bought, their benefits, their intended use, as well as their side effects. As we get deeper into the process of making our own specialized tea blends, it is important to share every aspect of each ingredient. So let's go for a ride and learn all about these herbs. Until tomorrow! Happy sipping 🫖
